Go Back

I'm Yours

Words & Music by Don Robertson, Hal Blair

My love I offer you now
My heart and all it can give
For just as long as I live I'm yours
No arms but yours dear will do
My lips will always be true
My eyes can only see you, I'm yours

And as the years roll along
Your joy and tears I'll gladly share
And when things go wrong dear
Just hold out your hand and I'll be there
With every beat of my heart
With every breath that I take
Now and forever, sweetheart, I'm yours

First album:

RCA LSP-2523, 1962, Pot Luck

First recorded:

June 26, 1961, Studio Session For RCA RCA Studio B

More info:
Elvis sang I'm Yours in his 1965 movie Tickle Me. He recorded the song, however, four years earlier on June 26, 1961, at RCA's Nashville studios. The single release of I'm Yours had an 11-week stay on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, reaching # 11. On the Easy-Listening chart, it replaced You Were On My Mind by We Five at number one in October 1965. After a three-week stay, I'm Yours was bounced out of the top spot by Herb Alpert's Taste of Honey. Sales globally have reportedly exceeded on million copies. I'm Yours was composed by Don Robertson and Hal Blair. Eight years after Elvis recorded the song, co-composer Robertson recorded his own composition (RCA 47-9721).
