Go Back

Go Back

I'll Be There

Words & Music by Bobby Darin

Lyrics:

I'll be there when all your dreams are broken
To answer your unspoken prayer, oh....
When the little things you're doin', ooh, don't turn out right
Don't you worry darlin' I'll be there

There whenever you need to know that there is someone who
Cares, oh yeah!
So if your new love isn't your true love
Don't you worry darlin', I'll be there

There whenever you need to know that there is someone who
Cares, oh yeah!
So if your new love isn't your true love
Don't you worry darlin', I'll be there
Don't you worry darlin', I'll be there
Don't you worry darlin', I'll be there

More info:

Bobby Darin wrote and recorded this tune for Atco Records (Atco 6167) in 1960. His recording reached # 79 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Tony Orlando recorded I'll Be There (Epic 9622) in 1963, but it wasn't until 1964 that a successful version was released. Gerry and The Pacemakers reached # 14 on the Hot 100 chart with their recording (Laurie 3279).

Elvis recorded I'll Be There on January 23, 1969, at American Sound Studios. For some reason, Elvis's version incorrectly lists Gabbard and Price as composers.
