The Wonder Of You

Words & Music by Baker Knight

Go Back

The Wonder Of You

Words & Music by Baker Knight

When no-one else can understand me
When everything I do is wrong
You give me hope and consolation
You give me strength to carry on

And you're always there to lend a hand
In everything I do
That's the wonder
The wonder of you

And when you smile the world is brighter
You touch my hand and I'm a king
Your kiss to me is worth a fortune
Your love for me is everything

I'll guess I'll never know the reason why
You love me like you do
That's the wonder
The wonder of you

This record sold over two million copies and had a 12-week stay on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, reaching a high of #9. On the country chart, it peaked at #37. The Wonder of You was number one for six weeks in England. It was Elvis's first "live" single release.
